Dr. Patton is an adjudicator for Heritage Music Festivals traveling throughout the United States every spring. He has traveled to London for that same company as an adjudicator of bands, orchestras, and choirs.
Dr. Patton traveled to Brazil as conductor of the Wyoming Partners Chorale and presenter of workshops in choral conducting and interpretation to college professors, teachers, and students. He later returned to Brazil as a guest of the University of Brasilia offering workshops in choral rehearsal techniques and civic choir organization. In addition, he traveled professionally with the U.S.O. overseas entertainment organization and the “Up With People!” shows serving as lead guitarist, vocal arranger, and musical director.
The Casper College Collegiate Chorale has joined forces on numerous occasions for the presentation of major choral/orchestral works including the “Requiems” of Brahms, Verdi, and Rutter, the Dvorak “Te Deum”, the Vaughan-Williams “Serenade to Music”, and Orff’s “Carmina Burana”. The choir has joined with the Helena Symphony and Chorale in a presentation of the Poulenc “Gloria” “Carmina Burana”, Bernstein’s “Chichester Psalms” as well as many other major choral/orchestral works. In addition, the choir joined the Cheyenne Symphony and Wyoming Symphony in Casper for performances of Beethoven’s “Ninth Symphony”.
Dr. Patton’s ensembles have performed on numerous occasions at the Wyoming State Music Educator’s National Conference and regional ACDA conventions. He has presented workshops at both the state and regional levels for MENC and ACDA. He has also been featured as guest tenor soloist with the Casper Symphony, Casper Civic Chorale, and the Helena Symphony and Chorale. In addition to the regularly scheduled concert series, Dr. Patton directs the annual Casper College Madrigal Feast and serves as co-director of the Casper College Jazz Festival. He is an active member of the National Honor Society Phi Kappa Phi, Music Educators National Conference, and the American Choral Directors Association.
